Meet Your Cultural Birthing Care Specialist

Doula - Oh Cook

I am a cultural birth professional specializing in traditional African American postpartum care. My work is deeply inspired by my ancestors, especially my grandmother, who was a labor and delivery nurse and the mother of ten children. Growing up, I watched her care for her home and family in ways that felt natural to her, washing the floorboards with different herbs and mixing nourishing drinks for health and healing. At the time, I didn’t realize how spiritual and holistic those practices truly were. Through her example, she taught me that intimate, ancestral care during and after birth can make a profound difference in how parents recover, heal, and transition into parenthood. Today, I carry those traditions forward by supporting families with culturally rooted postpartum care that honors the wisdom passed down through generations. Soon to be Medicaid & Carrot fertility certified through Birthing Advocacy Doula Trainings.
